Teeth Whitening Tips

Brush your teeth and floss on a regular basis, especially after meals.

Cut down or quit using tobacco products. This is also true for coffee and tea as these will stain your teeth with regular use.

Eat lots of fruit. Eating strawberries is good and rubbing the inside of an orange peel on teeth is a good natural whitener.

Use toothpaste that includes baking soda (Be sure to check with your dentist first!).

Get your teeth cleaned professionally at least once every six months.

Do not try to use teeth whiteners on dental caps and other types of veneers or dental work.

Replace your tooth brush at least once every 2 or 3 months.

Use teeth whitening kits such as those that you can find on this site.

There are several different types of dental implants that you can choose from but your dentist will advise you as to which type of dental implants will work the best for your particular situation.

For the most part, typical dental implants consist of a titanium screw that looks like the root of a tooth. It will have a roughened or smooth surface. Most dental implants are made out of commercially pure titanium and in most recent years, grade 5 titanium has been used more and more.

The procedure can be performed as an outpatient or under general anesthesia. Other methods include oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide sedation, intravenous sedation or under local anesthesia. The procedure must be performed by trained general dentists, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and periodontists.

The amount of time required to place an implant will vary depending on the experience of the practitioner and difficulty of the individual situation. It is a good idea to talk to your doctor about any concerns that you may have and to ask about the time that will be required in order to place the implant.

Dental implants feel and look so natural that you may forget that you even had the procedure in the first place. If you are missing teeth and you would like to get your smile back, dental implants may be just what the doctor ordered! Under the right conditions, dental implants can last an entire lifetime.
